Fishing Licence
In the UK you need a fishing licence to fish for freshwater fish. Children under 13 don’t need a licence. However, if you take a child under 13 fishing and hold the rod or help hold it you must buy a licence for yourself. You must always carry your rod licence when you’re fishing or you could be prosecuted and fined up to £2500. We received visits from the Environment Agency Inspectors last season so we recommend that you purchase your licence before you fish here.
You can buy a 1-day, 8-day or 12-month licence online. 12 month licences are valid for a full year from their start date - so you can purchase them at any time of the year. Junior licences (for those between the ages of 13 and 16) are free - but are still required. You are able to buy one licence that allows you to fish with up to 3 rods for coarse fish.
The price for a 12-month coarse fishing licence is £30 pa., £20 for registered disabled anglers or seniors citizens.
